Consultations
Understanding the expectations of our customers, employees and other stakeholders is very important to us.
We aim to ensure their priorities are accounted for in our decision-making, and are committed to consultation activities that help us achieve this.
After each consultation we summarise what our respondents tell us, and explain how their views have been considered in our planning.
Our consultations aim to:

- draft River Basin Management Plans
- This important and ambitious piece of European legislation gives us all the opportunity to improve the quality and wildlife of our rivers and lakes.
- Five-year plan 2010 to 2015
- This builds on our 'Taking care of water' consultation work in 2007. In August 2008 we published and began the process of consulting on our draft Business Plan, which sets out our proposals for work to maintain and improve services, and will ultimately set the prices we charge our customers from 2010 to 2015.
- Water Resources Management Plan
- This consultation closed in August 2008 and a statement in response to the public consultation will be published in February 2009, in accordance with Defra's Water Resources Management Plan Direction (England) 2008. The Statement will summarise the responses received and explain how the comments have been considered in our revised draft Plan, which will be submitted to Defra in Spring 2009.
- Managing sludge: our 25-year strategy
- Our Sludge Strategy considers options for the management of sewage sludge in our region over the next 25 years.
- Taking care of water
- In 2007 we held an independently facilitated public consultation. The results of this consultation fed into the final version of 'Taking care of water', our 25-year plan for a sustainable future - our strategic direction statement, published in December 2007.
