Campaigns

As the UK's largest provider of water and wastewater services, we have a duty to keep all our customers informed of the investment we are carrying out on their behalf.

Customer information campaigns also enable us to raise awareness of key water related issues.

London On Tap - Spring 2008

London On Tap is a unique collaboration between Thames Water and the Mayor of London to promote tap water in London's restaurants, bars and hotels.

Supported by Environment Minister Phil Woolas and Friends of the Earth, the campaign will run well into 2009, as we seek to raise public awareness of the high quality of London's tap water, the impact of bottled water on climate change and the environment, and its benefits to health and well-being.

The campaign also aims to empower customers in bars and restaurants to ask for tap water rather than feeling obliged to ask for expensive bottled brands, and encourage restaurants, bars and hotels to proudly serve tap water to customers, giving them a real choice about what water they can drink.

In May 2008, the campaign launched a competition to design an iconic water carafe which will be used to serve water in outlets across the capital.

Further information about the campaign and design competition is available on the London On Tap website.
