Why did you apply to the Thames Water Graduate Programme?
"I wanted to work for a large company with an engineering background to their business. The scheme impressed with job role variety, four placements in different areas of the business and my final placement leading into a permanent role."
"I wanted to increase my knowledge base by placement rotation, and joining a company this is focused on graduates gaining Chartership, and joining an accredited scheme."
"I was also interested in a company that enables community involvement, volunteering work in schools and charity events, sports teams and social events to settle in moving to a new area to start on the training scheme in the Thames Water region."
Stephen Driscoll
Stephen Driscoll joined the Thames Water Graduate Programme having graduated from the University of Wales with a BSc in Chemical Engineering.
Stephen's first placement is based at Hampton Water Treatment Works in Engineering.
Why did you apply to the Thames Water Graduate Programme?
"I applied to Thames Water as I was interested in the processes involved in the treatment of both clean and wastewater."
"The scheme seemed to offer more diversity than other graduate programmes, and supported chartership, which is of great interest to me."
Nicholas Ellis
Nicholas joined the Thames Water Graduate Programme in September 2005.
He graduated in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London.
Nicholas is currently based in Reading working in the South Provinces Networks in Operations.
Why did you apply to the Thames Water Graduate Programme?
"In contrast to many of my peers who are now employed in the financial sector, I wanted to use the theoretical knowledge that I was taught at university directly in an engineering discipline."
"The Thames Water Graduate Programme impressed me, most notably in the structured training programme, which includes a period of business orientation, and also the strong support for Thames Water graduates to become chartered in their individual disciplines."
Emma Prince - Finance
Emma Prince joined the Thames Water Graduate Programme in September 2006, on the Finance Graduate Scheme.
Emma is a graduate from the University of Surrey.

"The thing that attracted me to Thames was the generous study package in order to pursue professional qualifications and the ability to rotate around the business."
"Thames is a company that provides a vital service to millions of people, and every job you do within Thames will be a part of that process."
Dirk Borgstede

He graduated in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany and worked in different areas of engineering for a couple of years prior to joining the company.
Currently Dirk is based in the wastewater treatment design team in Reading, having already completed placements in water production and wastewater network design.
Why did you apply to the Thames Water Graduate Programme?
"I applied to join Thames Water because I believe the resource water is an extremely interesting product to work with, both in clean water production as well as wastewater treatment."
