Our key challenges
Delivering a 24-hour a day, 365 days a year service to the satisfaction of our customers and regulators such as Ofwat, the Environment Agency and the Drinking Water Inspectorate, is a massive challenge in its own right. This brings plenty of issues of its own - the constant need to adapt our network to accommodate new buildings (200 new connections a day), for example, or to drive up standards of sewage treatment to meet ever-more demanding environmental legislation.
But there are other impacts on us, some man-made, some natural, that are of major significance, and that we must address. Just three of these are leakage, ensuring adequate supplies and the impacts of climate change.
