Direct Debit
By providing us with your bank account details we can arrange for your bill to be paid automatically, on any day of your choice between 1st and 28th of the month.
You will receive your bill 14 days before payment is deducted. In the unlikely event of a mistake, your bank or building society will make an immediate refund.
You can set up a Direct Debit by calling us on 0845 9200 887. Please have your bank account details and ten-digit account number to hand.
Alternatively, print, complete and post us the Direct Debit form.

All Direct Debits are secure and covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
Direct Debit Guarantee
This Guarantee is offered by all Banks and Building Societies that take part in the Direct Debit Scheme. The efficiency and security of the Scheme is monitored and protected by your own Bank or Building Society.
If the amounts to be paid or the payment dates change, Thames Water will notify you ten working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.
If an error is made by Thames Water or your Bank or Building Society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid.
You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by writing to your Bank or Building Society. Please also send a copy of your letter to us.
To make an online payment you'll need to provide:
- Your ten-digit account number
- The full address of the supplied property
- Your debit or credit card details: Maestro, MasterCard, Solo and Visa are accepted

* Available 24 hours a day
* We will need your credit verification number (CVC), the last three digits from the signature strip on the back of your card
* We do not accept online payment for any other service
* Your card provider may ask for a existing password
* Allow four working days for payment to clear
* We take the security of personal information very seriously. Our website secures your personal information using a VeriSign SSL Certificate. The secure-server software encrypts all information including credit and debit card numbers and your name and address. We convert everything into a code that is securely transmitted over the internet

By phone
You can pay your bill in full or by agreed instalment over the phone.
Please call 0845 9200 888 for our secure 24 hour automated service, and have your ten-digit account number and debit or credit card to hand. You will be given a unique reference number to confirm your payment.
At a bank
You can pay the full balance of your bill, or an agreed instalment, at your bank.
Please use the payment stub attached to your bill.
If paying by cheque you should write your ten-digit account number on the back.
Your bank may charge for this service.
By post
To pay your bill by post, please send a cheque made payable to Thames Water Utilities Ltd, and your payment slip to:
